To comprehensively enhance teachers' research capabilities for projects and effectively promote breakthrough progress in their project applications, the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) held the “First Preliminary Application Demonstration Meeting for 2026 National Social Science Foundation (NSSF) Projects” on the afternoon of October 29, 2025. The meeting specially invited Professor Zhang Zheng from Northwestern Polytechnical University/Beijing Normal University for on-site guidance. Su Rui, Associate Dean of Research of the school, and teachers intending to apply for the projects attended the meeting, which was presided over by Associate Dean Su Rui.
In her welcome speech, Associate Dean Su Rui expressed sincere gratitude to the expert for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit and provide professional guidance for the school's scientific research work. The participating teachers systematically reported on key aspects of their respective projects, including the basis for topic selection, research value, feasibility, and innovation. Professor Zhang Zheng carefully listened to each teacher's presentation and conducted detailed and in-depth comments and analysis focusing on the rationality, cutting-edge nature, and practical significance of the topic selection. With his profound academic accumulation, he accurately pointed out the deficiencies and potential risks in the topic selection and demonstration, and put forward constructive optimization ideas and breakthrough paths. Inspired by Professor Zhang, the teachers gained a clearer understanding and deeper thinking about the direction of their project topics and the logic of demonstration.
Subsequently, Associate Dean Su Rui once again expressed sincere thanks to Professor Zhang Zheng on behalf of the school for his careful guidance. She emphasized that this meeting focused on the topic selection stage and achieved remarkable results. Taking this opportunity, the school will continue to carry out targeted special training and seminars in the follow-up to help teachers fully absorb Professor Zhang's opinions and suggestions, further consolidate the foundation of topic selection and demonstration, and optimize the overall project design. Through the systematic promotion of relevant initiatives, the school will effectively improve the quality and level of scientific research work, promote the academic research of the school to a higher level, strive to emerge more influential high-quality achievements, and continuously empower the high-quality development of the school.
